Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day

Most of you know I am a huge fan of the book, Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day. The bread method is magic. It makes the best bread with very minimal effort. We love making round crusty loaves, pizza crust, baguettes, etc. Well, Zoe and Jeff just came out with a new book, Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day. I have only had the book for a week, but I am already in love.

We recently mixed up the master recipe. It was just as easy as the master recipe in the first book. No kneading is involved and you can use the dough for 2 weeks. The main difference is the whole wheat flour, more water, and vital wheat gluten.

On Sunday, we baked a round loaf and it turned out perfectly. I loved the hard crust and hearty flavor. I enjoyed a slice with our homemade plum jam. I love having fresh bread dough in the refrigerator. It is so easy to bake up a fresh loaf and there is nothing better in life than fresh baked bread, especially when it is so easy!

The book has 100 recipes using whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and even gluten-free ingredients. I am thrilled they came out with a book that includes all healthy recipes. I love my whole grains:)

On a side note-I met
Zoe at the Blogher Food Conference in San Francisco and she is amazing! Not only is she gorgeous, but she is kind, sincere, and simply fabulous.

For more information about Healthy Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day visit their website. There is also a blogging group that will be baking their way through the book, if you would like to join, visit: Big Black Dog. Go buy the book today! You will be glad you did when you are eating homemade healthy bread with no effort!

  11. Oh, one of these days I will buy it. I was looking through it in the store and was just about to since I know how much you have loved it. I just won't execute and end up making it. I cook so much that to add bread making to the equation seems impossible. But maybe, maybe, one of these days.

    Your bread does look amazing!!!!!!!!

  15. I'm addicted to their book! I make enough dough to last for two weeks, and then I store it in my fridge. It's great for making last-minute pizza (just role it out and put some tomato sauce/mozzarella on it).

  19. How easy is it really? I am not a good baker and am really afraid of making bread. Some people on bakespace told me about no knead bread and swear it's easy but i'm such a chicken. I love the way your bread looks and would love to have the nerve to try it!
