Waffles
We tried Alton Brown's, Basic Waffles and loved them! I liked the mixture of whole wheat and white flour. The waffles were golden brown, crisp, and certainly what I consider "Good Eats." We served them with fresh strawberry syrup and a dab of powdered sugar!
BASIC WAFFLES
Adapted from Alton Brown
INGREDIENTS
1 c whole wheat flour
1 c all purpose flour
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 T sugar
3 eggs
2 T butter, melted
2 cups buttermilk
Cooking spray for the waffle iron
Preheat waffle iron as directed.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar. In another bowl whisk together eggs and melted butter. Then, whisk in the buttermilk. Whisk the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until . Let it rest 5 minutes.
Spray your waffle iron. Cook the waffles according to the directions for your waffle iron. Serve immediately, or keep warm in a 200 degree oven until ready to serve. If you plan on freezing leftovers, cool on a cooling rack before freezing. You can reheat the frozen waffles in the toaster.

this is great to know about b/c I feel like waffles are one of those foods that should be so easy to whip up but sometimes the recipe is just off or for whatever reason, they don't turn out right. I will definitely bookmark this recipe
Yummy! My kids request waffles almost every day for breakfast, this looks like a great recipe!
Love waffles on the weekends! These look scrumptious!
Ooh, those look great. WE have 9 church and I'm so itching for Jan when we have 11. I'm going to be a better breakfast cook then.
Love waffles!! Especially with strawberry syrup as toppings!

Hi Maria! Thanks for stopping by Finding La Dolce Vita! Your waffles are fantastic ;)
we attend the 11am service here too.. perfect for me since i'm not a morning person... but your waffles, definitely a winner!!! :)
i used to love waffles, but then my waffle iron broke and i haven't had any since. perhaps it's time for a new iron, because these are mighty tempting (especially with that strawberry syrup)! :)
I make Alton Brown's waffles dairy-free with soured soymilk (soymilk and vinegar) and they work beautifully. It's a great recipe. Your strawberry sauce looks great on top.
These look delish! Did you wear a Waffle Man suit while making them? I love that episode. Classic AB.
