Viking Cooking School
I am sure everyone has heard of Viking, in case you haven't...they make the BEST kitchen ovens, refrigerators, ranges, etc. They pretty much make it all! Someday my kitchen will have all Viking appliances...I will keep dreaming for now:) Anyways, they also have several cooking schools around the United States and they just opened one in Salt Lake City.
Josh is a business consultant for a bank and I am a health educator for Utah's workiste wellness program, but now we are also assistants for the new Viking cooking school. How cool is that??? We worked at the V.I.P party and the Open House over the weekend and it was great fun! We helped make appetizers, served, talked to customers, did dishes, etc. We help with whatever is needed!
Classes will begin soon. They teach everything from basic knife skills to pastry classes. There are so many good classes!! We are excited we get to help out. It will be fun working and learning from top chefs and cooking on the best equipment!
For more information about the school or classes visit this site: http://www.vikingcookingschool.com/hc-cgi-bin/hc?templ=new_vcs/home.html&nocl=1
Hopefully there is a school near you!!

Erica-I too am jealous of Josh's mom's kitchen, no fair:)
ttfn-It is fun working together. It doesn't even seem like a job. We love it!
Leslie-I will keep wishing for a Viking kitchen. Hopefully someday!
WOW very neat! I may have to drive to SLC and check out this new Viking store. I have been wanting to visit the IKEA in Draper so maybe I an do both. Im thinking during spring break would be nice! Who know maybe I will see you at the store!!
Obviously, Erica wasn't talking about your Josh's Mom's kitchen! It made me stop and think about what brand of kitchen equipment i owned! haha anyway, great for you guys and I am so glad you are doing it together, my Josh looks absolutely HANDSOME!!!! Next Viking school, we need to see a photo of you -- :) Love you, Momma Kathy
How cool!!! The kitchen looks so amazing! I actually was inspired to start cooking because when we moved into our apartment it had a viking stove and I felt bad letting something so nice go to waste.
Flourchild-Yes, come visit Salt Lake! Let me know if you decide to come! It would be fun to meet up! We can show you around the school and maybe you can take a class!
Kathy-Sorry there were no pictures of me. I spaced it. I was too busy having fun. I am glad I got one of Joshua in his chef's coat! He was looking mighty handsome, like always:)
Sounds like so much fun! That's awesome there's one so close to you.
I love it!! Josh looks so cute in his uniform.
How fun. You will learn so much!
That is so cool. How fun that you guys are able to do it together.
Oh, how much fun -- and you two are perfect for the job! Viking is lucky to have you representing it!
Hmmm pastry class sounds good.
Cheers,
Elra
Sounds like fun! Unfortunately, there isn't a class near me :(
Oh, serious fun. Our local adult ed lets you taking cooking classes for free if you assist (which I think means washing the dishes...) and I've always been tempted to volunteer. I'd actually just like to take more cooking classes just for a hoot. And (speaking of serious fun!) I like your new banner.
Joshy looks like a little stud in his chef outfit!
What fun!!
How cool is that? Also, I like the header redux.
That is so awesome! I'm uber jealous!
That sounds like so much fun!!
I will have to check Viking out!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. :)
How envious am I? VERY. Have a blast!!!
I have enjoyed reading your blog- lots of great recipes. Thanks for posting!
Viking school sounds like so much fun! Very cool!
How cool. Congrats to both of you.
I never heard of Viking cooking schools. I'm afraid if I went to one, I might start suffering from too much appliance envy. It's all GE in my kitchen because that seems to be the only company that makes appliances small enough to fit in that 8x8 space.
What a fun "job"! I'll have to look where their nearest school to me is.
Viking cooking school sounds fabulous! I'm off to see if they're in my area! Thanks for the info.
Excellent news! I have a Viking stand mixer and really like it. :)
Have fun in the new gig!
How FUN! Know you'll enjoy every minute :)
What an exciting opportunity for you both. Well done!
I could use a class on pastry making. :-(
I am going to look into this because THIS is what I need to be doing :)
That is just awesome! I want that kitchen!
Yay!!! Viking is based in MS. Cool to know that something so well known and GOOD comes from my little state. :-) I've never been to the cooking school here but hopefully one day I will.
Wow! Congratulations!
That kitchen is awesome, I want to live in it.
What an awesome experience for you!
That's awesome! I'm so happy for ya'll!
Congratulations this is fabulous!
That is so cool. How'd you get hooked up there? Vikings stuff is awesome. I dream of owning some myself!

The classes look great. I really want to take a class. I'm going to have to find some time to fit it in my schedule.
That is so cool, Maria! What a great opportunity and a chance to have some fun. And who knows...maybe a discount? :o)
I can't believe I missed this post!! I love it!! That is awesome that you and your hubby are doing this together....I wish we had a Viking school around here. I'll have to see if there are any nearby...
This looks like so much fun! I have been wanting to try something like this to "get into" the culinary world - and so great that you and Josh can do it together!
